Hidden River Arts hosts competitions and awards to encourage diverse writing from independent writers. Please visit our blog where all of our book awards and our Hidden River Review awards are listed, and where the winners of our awards are announced. There are three categories on our blog menu bar, with drop-down menus: Book Awards, Script Awards and Hidden River Review Awards.
We offer a variety of book awards, script awards, short story, poetry and essay awards in order to support a wide variety of writers and writing genres. Each winning manuscript receives a monetary award as well as either publication or (in the case of the Hidden River Playwrighting Award) a public scripted reading of the winning manuscript. We will shortly be expanding to offer awards in other creative areas: music, film, and visual art. These will be announced on our blog as well. *Please note that many this year's rounds of awards are currently closed. Due to COVID, and a reduced staff of readers, volunteers and interns, it is taking us longer to read and evaluate the submissions. We also have an excellent lineup of new titles in our pipeline, waiting for publication. Therefore, we will be suspending some of the awards for the 2021/2022 season, in order for us to catch up on the work already submitted to us. Please follow our Hidden River Arts blog for all updates and information about our awards program. |
